Default 2000 TT 180hp ECU - Factory boost 11.6psi? - more

Not having much luck finding an official source for the 180hp TT's factory boost pressure. Audiworld FAQ states it is .8 BAR from the factory. This equates to 11.6psi. However, a few tuner websites state the factory boost as 12psi. .5 psi is significant, so I'd prefer to be sure before I explore ECU upgrade options.

Thanks.

Default I get .8 bar as 11.76 psi. Is .24 psi significant?

I think not. They're pretty much saying the same thing.

Most of the tuners offer 1.1 bar chips, and *that's* a good deal more important than whether you started at 11.76 or 12 psi, I think.

Default No, 1bar is 14.5PSI..... 1 atmosphere is 14.7PSI.

To be more exact...

1 atm = 14.6959487755134 PSI
1 bar = 14.5037737730209 PSI
1 bar = 29.54 in Hg
1 bar = 0.986923266716013 atm
1 in Hg = 0.4912 PSI
1 in Hg = 0.03385 bar
1 PSI = 0.0689475 bar
1 PSI = 2.036 in Hg
1 PSI = 0.0680459 atm

I think you type a wrong number in there somewhere - a 2 instead of 7 :P

Default Only on this board... I mean seriously folks...

Since 1 in Hg = 0.4912 PSI you'd feel more performance change when a high pressure front moves in after a rain storm.
