2012 Audi A2 2.0 Mileage/Turbo Lag?
 

I just purchased an A3 2.0 S Line with Turbo/AWD and I have 3 questions as the Turbo feature is new to me.

1. I put in Premium 91 fuel from Esso and my city driving, which is all I have done so far, is reading between 10.9 and 11.5L/100 KM. It has been as high as 12, and I have seen it as low as 9.5 if I am going under 40km an hour. Is this normal, or an indicator that something is wrong? My only thought is the turbo feature uses a lot more gas than a normal vehicle, as I read reviews prior and it sounded like the A3 got good gas mileage. From what i have read, Shell 91V is the way to go as it has no ethanol and I will try that next, but can't imagine that is going to improve my fuel economy a lot.

2. When i press the gas pedal it almost hovers as if you are driving a stick and are shifting between 1st and 2nd gear for the first few seconds unless i push it far into the floor. It has taken some getting used to and I didn't notice it on the test drive. I have been reading that this could be turbo lag. Is this common or should I be concerned? A similar thing happens when i brake, as i near a complete stop there is a bit of lag where it feels like the car is about to stall, but then it doesn't. I am assuming this has to do with the way the fuel is injected into the system, but please enlighten me.

3. The previous owner, upon pickup, mentioned that it seems to burn oil quickly (as do all audi's she said). We used to have an A4 and don't recall that, but is this a known issue in the 2012 model?

Lastly while i'm here, any way to get a new key or fob without paying dealer price?
