20v 5b wastegate question

Wait...what engine are you talking about?
K26, 20v, 5B...
Are you talking about a 20vt I-5 (3B, RR, AAN, ABY, ADU)? Any factory 5cyl 20vt uses a K24 turbo (excluding the Sport quattro's KW motor, which uses a K26/27 IIRC). Some of the earlier 10vt's used a variation of a K26.
You may want to ask the urS car people or some of the 5ktq/200 or urq people about when the factory external WG can no longer remain closed. I've never tested mine, so I don't know.

Re: I assumed (shame on me perhaps) that he was asking about a 20v B5 and had a typo.
yeah, I missed it at first too, hence me just posting tonight...
I'm wondering if 5b was meant to be 3B? Or it could be 5v since B and V are next to eachother. But then it wouldn't have a K26 on it, unless it was a smaller K26 with a custom manifold and was a 2.1L 4cyl. Even with 2.1L, a small K26 is pretty laggy (drive an early 5kt or urq, both used the oil-only smaller K26 with a 2144cc 10v). I'd never do it on any 4cyl.
