Default 225hp TT engine block?

Where would be the best place to find an engine block, head, intake manifold, throttle body and possibly a crank in good condition without spending too much? I am looking build a 1.8t motor and swap it out with my stock motor. any advise?

Default if you are really serious, check out yellow pages auto wreckage...

and see if they have any decent 1.8T (from jetta, golf, passat, etc)

they are same engine block as far as i know.

you can upgrade rods, crankshaft, headers, etc if you are building it.

if you get pricing from the dealer, its 20% markup price (thats what it is here anyway).

Default I think all the FWD 1.8T blocks are the same...

I have heard that the 225hp version has a forged crank and the 180hp versions have cast cranks.

Have you considered a 2.0 conversion? At the very least, it's worth a 10% increase in power (with the proper programming)

Default All the 1.8t have forged cranks, don't know about the pistons.

The only difference between the 2 is the CR ?dished pistons? and the Turbo + injectors.
