Is 30+MPG possible - tuned 1.8 A4's ?
I've been seeing some '98 - '02 1.8 A4's for sale, mods: chipped, intake, exhaust, etc saying they are getting 30+ MPG.
Is this right? I've now seen three posts for tuned cars saying this.
Meanwhile I'm getting 25 100% stock. WTF?

Why would it be contrary to performance?
Performance is at WOT, the tuners just lean out the car a little while in vacuum seeing that the stock chip runs slightly rich at that point. So this means while in vacuum holding a set mph on the fwy we end up gaining some MGP. Even when I was making 500whp the car would still get 30 mpg on the fwy since I am not using any more power then a stock 1.8t would be.
