Default 4.2 A6 Oil Filters

Just traded my '99 A6Q 2.8 for a '00 A6Q 4.2 &
am looking for alternatives to the Audi 4.2 filter. Tried Autozone, Pep Boys, WalMart ...
no joy. Any ideas ?

Default What's wrong with the Audi one? OEM filters are actually better anyway.

Closest aftermarket filter in relation to OEM specs is a company called WIX, which makes filters for pretty much every make & model. But even thier filters don't match specs with OEM's. I'd stick with the audi filter, just stock up on them....

Default Cost is the problem with Audi's OEM,

$40+ is a bit steep for anybody's spin-on
filter. The AudiClub discount brought it
down to $35+.
