5 bar fuel pressure regulator
Would upgrading from a 4 bar to 5 bar fuel pressure regulator improve or degrade performance
on a KO3 running a 1.2 bar chip?

As I understand, the chip needs to be tuned for...
tuned for the increased fuel pressure, otherwise you may run rich. In other words, I doubt you will gain any performance from the fuel pressure mod alone. Good luck.

The 5 bar fpr will increase your injector size
If your running stock injectors you will be go from
240cc(ndbw)/270cc(dbw) rated at 3 bar
277cc/312cc at 4 bar
309cc/348.5cc at 5 bar
Anytime you change your injector size or the fuel pressure ratio you will have to retune the car.
