i'm wondering how fast realy are the 2.8 12v...and who do u think is faster a 2.8 30V Tip...or a 12V with 5spd. All that considering that both cars are stock!!!

The 30v has 14 more hp, which would probably make it slightly faster.

and each time I was passing him at the midway point, along with a chipped passat. He later passed me in Laguna Seca that year because I was caught in some traffic. But I would have to say the 5 speed has a slight advantage over a power robbing tip - at least until the tip picks up enough speed coming out of corners the corners and goes into lockup mode. There is also a weight penalty of his car vs my slightly lighter 12V with a few mods. He had a chip and exhaust and was manually shifting his tip.

I raced my friends 30v tip i was ahead up to 90 then he began to gain ground on me 97 12v 5 speed
