Default A4 brake upgrade.. what are my options??

Currently I have stock sport wheels... I am willing and able to upgrade. 18's maybe. 17's would be much less expensive for tires though.

Suggestions?

Default Info..

We have many options.

Check out our Turbo5 brake levels 1-3 as well as our Alcon brake kits from Vortrag. We also carry Tarox but do not have them on the page at this time.

Thanks

Default Another thing to consider is Brembo's. Floating rotor is very nice.

I love mine and they stop like you wouldn't believe on the track

Default as always, I must throw my hat into the ring: BIRA

www.bira.org

Its a nice not-for-profit organization of folks who help you to upgrade your brakes yourself, and sell the metal bracket needed to make it happen. They originated the Porsche monoblock caliper over a Audi rotor (A8, S4tt or Euro A8).

Check them out. If you are mechanically inclined and not afraid to do the work, the BIRA route will save you substantial amounts of money over buying a kit from a tuner.

If you are not interested in the DIY approach, then try one of the other's suggestions. Remember their advice may also include sentiments based on their ability to make money off of you.

Thank you and good day. Please mail me if you have any questions, or feel free to post them here.

Bira's website

Default A consideration...

One thing to ask when considering any upgrade is the relative weight of the proposed system compared to stock. Most of us put a premium on keeping the wheel tire combo weight down so it would be a shame to give that and more up by slapping a huge set of iron rotors in there without considering other options or what else you may need to do to control the increased unsprung weight.
