A6 2.7T with tiptronic, any hp limit?
Hey everyone,
A friend of mine is purchasing a 2.7T with a Tiptronic (I know!) and I was researching chips for him. I know there is a hp limit for the 1.8T Tip (~240hp) is there a similar limit for the 2.7T to worry about?
Also, which model Tiptronic tranny is it?
Any chip/Tip (not chip dip) experiences out there I can relay to him!
Thanks!
Michael

Heresay has it that the A6 2.7T Tip is rated at ~320blbs of torque. Whether or not that have allowed for Engr fudge factor this figure could be as high as 360lbs max. Most chips at there provide ~310hp and 330-360lbs of torque. GIAC is 310hp and 360lbs. AMS has produced a chip that is 310hp and 300lbs of torque. Their reasoning was that the valve in the tranny?? can safely handle this but to go higher invites disaster.
GIAC also has a Tip Chip"race version" that speeds up the time between shifts.
I know of an A6 2.7T Tip that has run 14.5 1/4 with 18" wheels(26.5lbs each). With lighter wheels you can get to 14.3-14.4. That A6 has the GIAC ECU and TIP chip.
