Just wondering if it was a K04 could it be incorporated into AWE K04 upgrade. Seems like a custom exhaust manifold for the KO4 would really make it a nice package. Is anyone working on this. I see on TAP's site they sell one but I heard it wasnt for sale anymore, something about the design.

Abt uses a K16 i am runing the Stage 5 set up rated to 265 but feels stronger...
Abt uses a special K16 they have 3 models ranging from 265-310 depending on which k16 you get will determin the power. mine is rated for 265 but i tink it is pulling more like 280-290. this thing hauls *** i mess with Mustang GT's Saleen, and my dad in his 2000 vette.
its tons of fun with tons of money to spend to do this mod. it works in perfect harmony with no problems the only thing i have is a worn out clutch. purchased the APR kit but have not gotten the chance to install it. so every time i gun it starts to stink real bad.

What are the prices of the ABT kits?...or at least your...if you don't mind me asking....
Of course I want to know because I was planning on going the APR route, but I'm curious if the the ABT kits are much cheaper, if at all.

What is a K16?
Can someone tell me about the K16? I am planning a turbo upgrade to my recently-purchased 1996 A4 1.8 Tq, since the K03 runs out of puff pretty low down in the rev range, and is undoubtedly the major restriction to getting real performance out of your 1.8T once you've upgraded the chip.
I was originally looking at the K04 option (see article on DonP's website on the K04 upgrade). Probably the most cost-effective way of replacing your turbo is to take your OE K03 turbo down to a KKK dealer and get him to machine out the casing (the compressor wheel is slightly larger) and replace the K03 "core" (turbine, shaft and compressor) with a K04 core. You might even be lucky enough to "borrow" or buy a well-used K03 off another car for the dealer to work on, so as to lessen the down-time on your own car. If he does the job properly, he will replace bearings and all important bits, so the condition of the "donor" turbo is immaterial.
I read a few days ago about the K16 as a possible alternative, but no one seems to know anything about it. Is it a KKK? Does it use the same casing as the K03/K04? Will it fit on the same manifold and use the same plumbing as the original?
How does the performance compare to the K04?
Anyone out there know these things?
