aftermarket..........."mechanical" timing belt tensioner............
this is a repost from the A4 forum, B/C it got lost @ in all the posts
anyone have any comments about this part?
is it just a re-manufactured old VW/audi piece?
is it spring loaded or is it adjusted by the cam-bolt?
they also have some nice hardware on the rest of the site......<ul><li><a href="http://www.eurospecsport.com/valvetraincomp.htm">eurospecsport</a></li></ul>

Looks like it's adjusted by getting the pulley where you want it...
and clamping the bolt down.
The hydraulic tensioner they show is the old style, which has been replaced by a newer version. I think 99.5 and up have the new version. When I replaced my belt at 60K, I put in the new style tensioner.

Re: Looks identical to my 16V timing belt tensioner (stock part).
That is exactly what it is. Only thing special about the setup is the oddball bolt that bolts to the block and holds the tensioner down.
