All of you guys that went with a custom turbo or custom 2.0L.. How is your car running?

Who did the software? what are you using for management? Is it done yet? How long will it take to get the software issues all worked out?

If you look down the page a bit...
I just got my FMIC installed.
I've got some MAF problems that's hindering me a little, but it should be taken care of within the next two weeks.
I've got a PES T28 chip, it's running good so far, we'll see how it does when I crank the boost up.

There is one other guy(ry4nn) he has a
2 liter with a PES T28 kit. Car made about 277 hp at the wheels on pump 93 octane and 19psi. But when you go to a custom turbo or do the 2 liter build up, you will have to look for ways to do custom tuning.
As for me, my car is only tuned by 1 person and that is Garrett of GIAC. Pretty much the only person I trust tuning my car. What is cool is that he even lets me pilot his 1.8t when he shows up at the drags.

Do you have any idea how much ry4nn paid for his 2.0 setup?
Thats a really good number but it seems like it would be pretty price...
3,800 for the pes kit and probably another 2,000 to have the engine built. wow, I wish I had the cash to do that.

Your looking more along the line of about $4k-$5k for a built 2 liter.
After you add in all the labor costs. Then add the tuning and kit and you might be looking at spending $10k easy.
My 2 liter,ported AEB head and schrick cams cost me around $10K alone.

Once I got the cash Im picking up a welder and Im going to start fabbing my own mods.. 
Its probably much harder then it looks, but I gotta try.. There are a bunch of things that I want but either the tuners charge too much or having it custom made will cost too much..
I know it will take a good time before I get the hang of welding, but once I do, I want to make a custom exhaust, and do my own FMIC setup along with some other goodies.. I just have to do some more research so I pick the right core size/design..

Re:Well I'm just going to tack weld it all up...
and send it out to a pro. I'll tack it all up and get it nice and aligned then I try and weld it and ruin it.
Im going to just going to run the parts over and pay the exhaust man 20 bucks

I actually can't weld....
I let my dad handle it I tack it, then let him have at it.
One of these days I'm going to get a bunch of scrap metal and just start welding crap together for practice.
