Well, this is my first post here, so I will start it with a good one. I am the proud owner of a 2003 A6 4.2 and I recently completed a 6 speed manual swap. The car is a friggin rocket. The only thing I have left to do it wire the reverse lights. For all those people who say you need a lift for the swap, all I had was knowledge, experience and beer. Aside from a couple tools you won't find at Sears (like triple square drive), I used mostly basic hand tools. It really wasn't that hard. Now, I also have turned a wrench professionally for 15 years, and this is no project for a novice. I will highly recommend this project to anyone who hates the old 5 speed tip. I know I hated mine!
