Default And another more updated chip question

Just got a 2004.5 A4 1.8t Quattro 6spd with all the goodies.
Had a heavily modded Eclipse prior and want to start in to this thing in the same manner as I'm knowledgable about most that can be done; just need to adapt figures and dyno stuff for this car.
Chips weren't available for the V6 I had in my Eclipse (used an ICON timing-advance module) so I'm new to that stuff, though.
Got my exhaust, short-shift and brake upgrades ordered.
Big question:
For those kind enough to answer, how long have you been chipped (GIAC especially) and have you had any problems (anything!) that might be chip-related?
Really looking to go this route (and then turbo & clutch upgrade down the road).
PS- Is there a minimum mileage I should have on the car before chipping?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I did do a search.... didn't really turn up anything for me.

Default Another question for anyone... please?

Before I open up the box holding the ECU (I've decided to send mine to AWE if the ECU removale isn't too bad), is it possible to determine if I have the tamper-proof bolts AWE mentions in "removal of ECU"? And if so, is there a "best way" to get them out? Car is 2004.5 A4 1.8t Quattro 6spd

Default are you looking to do more than just a kit?

how "heavy" is "heavily modded"?

I've been chipped for about 10K miles, and I'm at 72K right now.

I'd treat the car with the same break-in period/procedure whether it was chipped or not. Stay below 5K RPM's for a while, don't get into heavy boost until the oil/coolant is warmed up...
