Any cautions with adding a chip to a '97 1.8tqa with 63k mi?

Regardless of chipping,
Get the timing belt and tensioner changed.
Several examples on this board and at my local service department of premature failures.
Audi has an updated tensioner with a piston mechanism. The old tensioner used a ball mechanism.

I added my chip at 55k only problem I had.....
was with the bypass valve. Under acceleration I was losing boost, this was confirmed when I added a boost guage. I ordered a Bailey valve and all was good.

SScott please give me your advice!!!
I think that I have that problem. I have the stage 3 from TAP and I'm very happy with the power of the car untili recently intall a boost gage and found that I get 18 psi when I open my throttle, but after I reach 5000 rpms the boost starts to go down up to 11 psi at 6500 rpm.
Is that the valve. Is it similar to your problem??? Can I do somthing to keep the 18 psi all the way up to the 6500 rpms???
