Any downsides to seam welding ?
Considering getting serious about my track shinanigans. Seam welding and full cage among other things. Car might see limited street use until I can find something else to drive to and from work.

I've been contemplating a cage, ever since Ed got his.....
Is there a reasonable one available for the A4/S4, that wouldn't be too miserable in a daily driver? Keep in mind, my daughter needs to get in & out of the back. ;-) She'd probably love ith though.

Burnt arms and holes in your clothes ; - ) But from what I know it really stiffens chassis.
Do yourself a big favor and strip all the undercoating 1st or you will have a very bad time welding. Be careful in welding tho (use very low heat as metal is thin) and use rustproof after done if you plan to keep for awhile. If you find a good cagebuilder who does it right and ties in to all susp points, please let me know. I will have to street mine for a year or so, but then I want a cage.
Good luck
