Default It makes NO difference...

...for several reasons.

First, the MAF woudl be the bottleneck using your logic of bigger is better. It is, by the way, a lot bigger than the K03 turbo inlet.

Second, your limit is not the intake, it's the turbo. The stock intake pipe (from MAF to turbo inlet) is good to somewhere between 250hp and 270hp. The MAF determines the amount of air getting to the turbo and in turn, inside the combustion chamber. There ain't nothing else that is going to get more air in there aside from programming.

In addition, variations in diameter from your Blitz filter to the smaller MAF back to a larger intake section and then back down into the K0X is going to create some weird flow patterns and pressure (vacuum) variations in the intake tract.

Above all else, I am interested in hearing how you are going to keep all that hot under hood air from getting sucked into the neato filter you got there. Anything less than a ceramic coated or reflective covered full hoodline to framerail & headlight to wheel well SEALED heatshield is going to cause your intake temps to go up exponentially.

Default First you need a bigger turbo, then a bigger MAF, then do your intake, but

even then the bigger intake will not mean much until you build your engine to rev up past 8000.

Default Don't need it....

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1009/hybrid_measurement.jpg"></center><p>
...look at my K04/Mitsubishi 16G hybrid. The stock intake pipe slides right onto this thing with NO problem.

All you are doing is creating a headache for yourself - trust me!

Oh yeah, what are you using for programming & injectors because the stock injectors ain't gonna flow?

Default Too bad I didn't take the pic of my new turbo vs the KO-3 & KO-4 side by side. You'll physically...

see its a different beast from the latter ones, it dwarfs it big time. Its not as big as the Garret/Airesearch T-28 compressor housing either. The hybrid you have is no longer available from Turbo Specialties and it was a great solution at the time when the newer KO4-20's did not come out yet. FYI, I had to heat up the stock rubber inlet with a heat gun to expand it in order to slide it in and the elbow acts like an air restrictor that some race series impose on some turbocharged vechiles. I am gonna get this done tomorrow and let you all know if you're right or I am. As for fuel, I'm using 270cc Lucas injectors over the FPR route and SKN software from Germany.

Default What you're refering to is a top end only set up which is good for drag racing and/or track racing.

I got a very broad powerband with this setup, reacts like the stock at the bottom end, got a lot more punch in the mid and top end. Full boost is felt at approx 2.5K rpms. This turbo is a whole lot bigger one than the KO4-15, its approx 5.75" diameter on the compressor housing. I was about to toy with the TT's larger MAF sensor housing that is 75mm in diameter but you can't get just the plastic housing by itself, you have to get the entire TT's sensor assembly which is cost prohibitive ($468.00 list). You do not need to mess with the intake and cams unless you are looking for top end only which is not the setup I want.

Default why do i get the feeling that some of u have not ............

seems as though some of u have not gotten in the engine and looked around. example the intake rubber pipe is not the same size from end to end. infact the end of the rubber pipe is quite smaller then the end connected to the MAF. i can almost put my fingers around it. what i want to do is makes the hose the same size all the way threw. Besides you should here my engine suck that air.
