anybody know how/where to install a trans temp gauge on a 99.5 1.8t tiptronic? i need instruction.

VAG-COM, read data block 4, field 1. Otherwise, you'd have to...
Do some custom fabrication. Wouldn't be too hard, best place to check the temp would be the trans pan, you could drill & tap there & put in a temp sensor. I've never heard of it, but maybe there's a kit you could get that would simply tap into the signal wire in the trans harness? That would be much easier, cleaner, & reversible!
