Default Anybody upgrade their brake master cylinder?...

Especially interested to know if anybody has gone from A4 (B5 platform) to the S4 master cylinder.

Default Depends...

I have upgraded rear brakes and the pedal travel is longer and softer than I prefer. I'm looking to get that nice firm pedal feel back.

No need to elaborate on rear brake upgrades, just looking to benefit from anybody who has experience with a master cylinder upgrade.

Default What rear brake upgrade?

Does it retain the E-brake functionality? What kind of fluid did you use?

Default Stasis Track Sport...

Not sure if anyone else is running this setup on an A4. I run Alcon B types up front and prior to the rear upgrade the pedal was very firm and a fair amount higher. Three track events on this rear setup and I'm very happy with the braking, just want the pedal a little firmer and a little higher.

Setup does retain e-brake, but uses S4 rear calipers and a larger rear rotor. Have been using Motul 600 for years, the softer pedal is NOT a fluid issue...pedal remains consistent lap after lap. S4 rear caliper has a 25.4 mm piston versus A4 rear caliper of 23.81mm.

Default A8 slotted rear rotors/carriers, S4 rear calipers. Stoptech up front

no issues here. you'll just tend to abuse/overuse it<ul><li><a href="http://community.webshots.com/photo/41227127/56048717MwQXCi">nngooooollldd</a></li></ul>

Default Bleed the brakes again

If you have the same fluid in there as before you put the rear brake kit on, I agree, the pedal feel would not change. However, noting that you've replaced the rear caliper, there is some chance that there's an air bubble in there somewhere.

As a side note, where did you get the S4 rear caliper and carrier from? I was quoted quite a bundle from the stealership, something like 600 bucks for both calipers and both carriers.
