Anyone know a source 4 custom timing belts?? Esp if already set up to do VW/Audi
Need a couple or 4 custom belts made in the Audi tooth design. I think early but will confirm. The extra 10mm + the Audi head and diff cam pulley makes it a one off fit. Doing the belt right is the only good option. Any help /tel #/Name want at least OEM quality prefer upgraded matls. Will post a pic.
Thanks

Pic of block. will have length needed tomorrow

the block is ~12mm taller and the sump will set 3/8" lower due to girdle (no effect on length of belt needed). I have measurements, but we have found nothing on the shelf with proper tooth spacing and tooth cut and length. With the effort into this engine I want a good belt. Anyone know a custom timing belt maker.I need 1 quick.

i modified an ABA intermediate shaft to fit a 16v cam sprocket and will use a Fiat 158 tooth belt. I moked it up quickly and it seems to fit well. it uses the same diameter and tooth profile as vw. i'll only know when it's running if the oil pump likes being underdriven (8vs are .. but 20v has an extra cam and 12 extra lifters).
I think Nate (race101.com) is using a 159 tooth belt on his and it's holding up. he also has a 16v cam sprocket on his intermediate shaft.
If you use a stock 16v/20v intermediate shaft pulley, the 155 tooth prelude one is working well for xr4tic. (it's a little bit narrower and the teeth are round .. but it works)
i think the ideal would be 156? ..
gates and contitech catalogs are available on the net, but i haven't found anything OEM that's a perfect fit.
