Anyone know why Autothority claims 71hp gain for the S4 for such little money - $474? And that includes a K&N filter! APR and AWE sell their chips for $600 (or you can fork over a whopping $1145 to AWE for a complete ecu swap). TAP sells theirs for $625 and Witteraurer sells theirs for $795!
So... does anyone have first hand knowledge why there's such a big difference in bucks?

If you have their chip installed, request that they not use any special epoxy which could ruin part of the ECU if the chip is removed.

I think they started using a special epoxy on chips due to their software being copied.

Hey thanks electron! Didn't know about any epoxy issues. I guess it would be safe to assume that any chip tuner could do something like the epoxy to make life more difficult, huh? I'll keep that in mind when I make up my mind on who I'll use for an upgrade. BTW, do you have first hand experience with them or other tuners?

netted the best 1/4 mile time i had. then i moved over the a k04 / giac and thats when the problems began...

anyways, thumbsup for the autothority chip. =)

its probably because autothority flash programs the ecu while giac etc.. solder a new chip
