Default Anyone running APR aluminum flywheel with AWE DTS?

Just wondering if the DTS would help with that annoying rattling noise at low RPM's with AC on.
TIA

Default That rattle is chatter, it is not going to go away.

This is one reason we no longer make a super light weight flywheel and only sell our mid weight 20 lbs flywheel now.

Thought chatter occurred with clutch engagement.

Yes but your using a flywheel that cant take the load from the drive line.

Default the rattle is becuase the new flywheel is....

a single mass flywheel and it will not damp the noise like a dual mass flywheel does. Which is one of the reasons that they use a dual mass flywheel. it does chatter when you engage the clutch which is somethign different and that is because the clutch material is not organic and it does not slip like an organic composed clutch would. A AWE DTS will not solve either problem. Nice looking car by the way.

That is funny because I dont think his stock flywheel was making the noise.

I understand why it is rattling. When I put my finger on the transmission, the rattling disappears. So I was wondering if anyone has done anything to absorb the extra vibrations transmitted to the tranny because of the aluminum flywheel.

Default The flywheel takes the load just fine. It has nothing to do with the load on the flywheel.

The weight of the flywheel has nothing to do with the amount of load it can handle. people use light flywheels on cars that have much more power than ours. I haven't had any problem with my flywheel and my stage 3. If anything it would be the clutch that wouldnt handle the load.
