APR EMCS Updates?
#2
that's a good question
Having worked at a couple companies that distributed hardware/software devices such as this, I've learned multiple times that it rarely is in a companies' interest to ship any updates.
You usually want to go to newer (more capable or cheaper) hardware. And you'd rather sell a whole new unit than a cheap upgrade. And then what if the upgrade fails in the middle and the unit becomes toast (a FLASH memory concern).
As such, if I get an APR, I won't be getting the upgrade capabilty, as I expect they will never ship any upgrades, or perhaps one token one to placate those who bought the add-on.
Nothing against APR, I'm glad they are trying. I just think they'll reach the same conclusion that the companies I worked at did.

Upgrades are encouraged at APR....
We always encourage our customers to upgrade their ECU's here at APR. Having the latest version of the software ensures that you get the best performance from your car that we can offer. Upgrades are free at APR, and we even pay for free ground return shipping.
The EMCS home programmers will start to ship very soon. All chips sales at APR since approximately June of last year have an EMCS module. This means that you always have the option of upgrading/adding-on feature without sending your ECU back in to us.
Customer support after the sale is something that is often overlooked this day and age. We strive to keep all of our customers happy, even years after the sale....
