Att Mike, Have you repaired your manifold yet?
When is the serious tuning going to start?
Hope Cracking hasn't been too bad.
Can't wait to see results?
Did you get the Solid Cam kit you were saying earlier you were getting?
Mine arrived last week.

Yes I got the manifold back last week and just reinstalled it today.
Car is now running again, but still need to call up GIAC to see when they can start the tuning. It seems the crack was caused by the movement of the wastegate, this caused pressure on the tube that connects the wastegate to the manifold.
I dont have any plans to spend $2500 for a solid lifter kit.

Which Shrich Cams u running 2PtZero and are u running Shrick springs etc..?
And what caused ur manifold to crack? To much weight from turbo?
I noticed from your pics that the turbo is not sitting straight on to the engine and there is a lot of leverage stress on ur manifold.

The stress crack was caused by the wastegate dump tube
causing the wastegate to move around. This is because the dump tube is 2 feet long and does not have any support or bracing at this time. The turbo has 3 support bars and the wastegate now has 1 support bar to the head.

Re: The stress crack was caused by the wastegate dump tube
maybe was also caused by tube flexing from heat, no support Brace will stop that.
Lucky you got Lightweight Seats in you car to counter act the weight of Turbo, manifold and support braces.
So when you think it maybe finnally tuned?

Actually we sat there and watched the dump tube move the wastegate while the car was at idle.
BTW my manifold + support bars are still lighter then your manifold you sent over here.

Re:Didnt you just get the car back?
It sounds like these people dont know wehat they're doing. Maybe its time to scrap this project and go to a more conventional setup.
Ive heard mounting the turbo at an angle like that eats up the bearings also?...I dont see your issues ending.
