Default attn xr4tic: hey John, I was right. VW Bug FPR is 3.0bar ;)

Well, not quite right, but since you verified with the dealer that the FPR was the same for the TT and the Bug, here's the best picture that turned out for the TT FPR. Who's the dummy that said the TT was 4 bar anyway :^
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/225TT_FPR.jpg">

Bosch part numbers is:
0 280 160 557

the one below is
037 133 035C

Heck, since I'm in a picture posting mode, might as well post a few more pictures. And since you're not John here's some pics to make the post more worthwhile hehe

Check out the TT injectors - and the first time I saw these kinds for a Ford, I thought they were so ugly.
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/225TT_inj.jpg">
Well, at least I know were to get cheap ones for future mods.

Ok, not TT pics anymore, but something I took 2 weeks ago.

My $5 testpipe hehe. This cat is clogged up.
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/96_cat.jpg">

All welded up (although MIG welding that tin can flex pipe was a pain. I need Tig $$$$.
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/96testpipe.jpg">

Installed on the car (1 of 2)
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/96testpipe2.jpg">

check out my 2nd 02 sensor placement. Cat efficiency code = Engine - Earth hehe (hint)
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/2nd_02.jpg">

And more pics

I scored this on EBAY last month - cheap!!
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/ebay_score.jpg">

He gave me his MAF too - future mod hehe
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/maf_compare.jpg">

All electrically check out good!
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/2001_46_inj.jpg">

And are trully 19 lb at 3bar! Car runs good, and with the test pipe, my primary 02 came back to life!
<img src="http://home.earthlink.net/~ego69/_images/grad_cyl.jpg">

Now I really need to score a good, cheap BB turbo and I'll be all good

Default you'll need to put spacers under the fuel rail to raise them

DBW cars use EV12 injectors, ford uses EV6 which sticks out more.

1/2" to 3/4" spacer, depending if you use the stock injector clips or not.

Default Now all I gotta do is find a TT or beetle to "borrow" one from :)

Using the 2nd part number, I was able to find one online for $55, but I should be getting my Fuel Controller today, so I'll hold off on buying the FPR for now.

Thanks.

Default not those kinds, I was talking about these weird looking ones ;)

Default Split Second PSC1-003....

It requires a laptop to program, but it allows you to modify the MAF signal based on RPM vs. MAF, but you could also use RPM vs. TPS or RPM vs. MAP if you wanted too.<ul><li><a href="http://www.splitsec.com/products/psc1/PSC1003.htm">http://www.splitsec.com/products/psc1/PSC1003.htm</a></li></ul>

both the 180 and 225 are 3 bar? I was under the impression that the 225 was not 3bar...

Default The 225 runs on 380cc (3bar injectors) so it might use a 3 bar fpr.

If the chips for that 225TT run high boost without changing the fpr then it might just be a 4 bar.

Quick Reply: attn xr4tic: hey John, I was right. VW Bug FPR is 3.0bar ;)
