Audi A6 4.2 Turbo?
I am a student in the motorsports program at UNC Charlotte . I have a senior design project and was considering turbo charging my 2000 audi a6 4.2 It would be similar to a STS setup with a remote mount turbo possibly where the OEM mufflers are mounted. I am trying to do some research to see if this would be possible. Is it possible to tune the stock ECM to work with a turbo? I do not know of any tuning software available. Any information would be helpful. Thank You

Just buy the RS6 manifolds and plumbing and forget the rear mounted crap, that is a last resort
Seriously, Audi made a TwinTurbo v8, and all you have to do is buy the parts and ECU. Making the ECU work will be all the project you need;>}
OR
You can certainly put in Autronics, Motec, or as a cheaper but last resort 034efi due to customer service. You will use the stock ECU to run all ancillarys and the aftermarket to run the engine. Unless you go with a manual tranny it will be a bitch to crack the stock ECU. I would recommend 2 people who might be able to help if they are so inclined Roland Meyer of MTM and Hans Leyman who contracts to Audi. Also Hans Dahlback can help. The tranny will be your biggest problem unless you go manual, then the stock ECU may freak.
You are certainly taking on a tough project for a beginner!

Thank you for the information. Is there anywhere I could buy the RS6 exhaust manifolds and ECU besides an audi dealer? Do you know their e-mail addresses so that I could contact them? I'm not set on doing this project yet but would like to if it is possible, I'm jut trying to gather information at the moment.
