Autronic Sm2 Install done..
Finnally got around to installing the Autronic Sm2 Stand alone ECU with Autronic CDI Ignition.
When you first start looking at Stand alone ECU, and look at their software to set them up, many look very daunting. And can often give you the idea of "**** what do I do now" and "Its all too hard."
Well I purchased the Autronic setup and it has been sitting under my desk for over a year.
Well Got it all wired up, then **** sit in front of the laptop and set it up.
Well This where the fun begins.
Entered paramters like number of cylinders, what type of crank and cam trigger setup, Brand and Model of injectors, and entered the Base Fuel Mul value which is simple (Volume of one cylinder x 8.112 / Flow of injector in cc)
Now what else do i need to enter to start the engine... Nah cant be that simple...
Oh Well, Crank it over, Bingo starts!!!
Then I setup the Autronic Exhaust Gas Analyser,
hook it up to also supply O2 signal to the ECU, and go for a drive.
Place SM2 in "Autotune mode" and has i drive the car, hold the RPM at various set point for 2 sec each and also various loads.
I was only able to go upto 50% load on the street.
Higher loads should be done on a dyno.
The Car with 30 minutes of road driving, is perfect to cruise and drive around with light to moderate acceleration.
I floored it a few times only to 5500 rpm under full load, but i watched the Analyser carefully
and its on the rich side which is cool untill i do full load mapping.
The car now with No MAF unit and running on MAP sensor, certainly is very smooth and responsive to drive.
According to th Dash Board software from autronic, the HP meter already hit 420HP at 5500 rpm, but not quite sure on accuracy of this, but it definate felt really strong..
Now I can Install my new Turbo and do Final accurate tuning on Autronic.
The fine tuning will take a Little time as i still have to setup "Flat Shift" (Leave accelerator flat to floor and press clutch in to change gears, but engine stays at preset rpm level), and some other features like FAN and Air Con control, then put the Car on a dyno to do full Load tuning and work out best Ignition timing setup.
All in all very impressed with how easy it was to do basic setup, and performance seems exceptional.
Definately a Top shelf product.<ul><li><a href="http://www.autronic.com">Autronic Web Page</a></li></ul>

Re: What turbo are you running, @ what boost, and if you dont mind me asking
At the moment a GT25/35, but installing next week a gt30.
New setup will be hopefully running 18-20 psi
onld setup was about 24-26 psi.
