Default AWD dyno in Michigan......

I case anyone is interested and in the area, Payn Technologies just got a AWD dyno. An AWD baseline run (3 runs in total) is $130...they waived the $25 setup fee.

If it seems to easy, your not going fast enough.

Default What kind of dyno is it?

Godspeed in Novi has a Dynapack AWD dyno. They charge $200 for an hour, but the Subie guys pay $400 for a full tune session, which can last almost a full day.

Default Its a Mustang AWD IMP dyno

Payn charges $165 an hour to tune AWD, $130 for a three run baseline. For tuning, there is a set up fee of $60 (25 for setup, 35 for wide band o2 usage) but they waive the 25 for the baseline no tuning runs.

A full day to tune?? Man, those cars must need a lot of work. The average for a tune is like 3-4 hours or so I've heard.

Default Problem is, there's not much that can be tuned on an A4...

about the only thing you can do, is put it on the dyno, plot the A/F ratios, then see if you can get a chip burnt to help correct the ratios if need be.

Unless of course you've got a standalone.

As for the Subie guys, they'll set it up, tune it for pump gas, then race gas, and if there's any problems like having to run out for an air filter, or change the plugs, etc, etc, it can take a while. Plus I think they do a little part throttle tuning as well. Not bad for $400, considering we'd have to pay $200 for just a couple of "monitoring runs"
