Default bad times at the strip...(read)

so i go to the drag strip last weekend to run my car for the first time ever. ive never drag raced in my life. my very first run i slipped the clutch too much and the revs went up to 4k plus before the clutch finally grabbed. i finished the run with a 15.77 at 86.5mph with a 2.19 60ft. when i picked up my slip i could distinctly smell clutch in the air. every run after that i bogged my launch and i couldnt get below 16sec. all my trap speeds were around 85-86mph. im really wondering what was going on that day and if it was just my clutch and lousy launching. i think i might have glazed my clutch on the first run causing it to slip at high speeds on successive runs but i really dont know. any ideas, help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. i have a 98.5 a4 quattro w/ apr 1.0bar

Default Well the clutch will only be glazed for a while. If you just let it cool down it will work again.

I did this many times, well over 30 times with the stock clutch. I would then let it cool down then run again and it would hold all the way down the track.
