Default been driving around with my new k04 install...some issues..

i'm pretty sure my clutch is slipping.

also there is a noise like a belt squealing when i go WOT <3k rpm. above that no sqeal, possibly a boost leak sound.

a) can a great increase in power cause some of the belts to slip?

b)does a slipping clutch make noise?

and i think i know the answer to this, but my clutch/brake fluid is old....changing this wont effect a slipping clutch right?

Default The "belt slipping".....

The belt slipping sounds that you may be hearing are probably air cavetating within your k04. I too have the same problem and if you back the boost (if you have a MBC - just turn it down.) it solves that problem. But the downside is, you are backing off the boost.

Do you have a boost guage? What does it read?

Mine used to be in the high 20's and now I'm near 20 and no "screeching" sound.

HTH.

Default From the testing I have done....

I am 99.999% sure that it is on the intake side (ie. right before the impeller). This is where the hose goes from your airbox into the turbo. I think that the cavitation is because of the ribbed hose and as I said, it happens right before the impeller. I have been wanting to buy a SamCo Forge silicone intake hose, but haven't found time in my week nor the $ in my purse.

Step 1) Get a boost guage. It will help you with setting the MBC (if you decide to install one). Your k04 isn't doing anything "bad" per-se. It is just boosting the way the program has been set.
Step 2) Make sure you have your FPR set properly. Running lean is bad. (a VAG can help you with this).

Default i just did some more highway driving...i think some of the noise is the clutch chattering...

though i believe some of the noise is coming from the turbo...the samco hose looks pretty good...ill have to invest in one of those soon.

Default Sack up for a boost guage....

It will tell you if your boost is going all over the place (e.g. clutch slipping) or not.

You can go ghetto and run one from the hood through the drivers door and duck tape it.

Get a boost guage man.

It's cheaper than a clutch.
