Default Bad choice on the Sk04 since it wont last long.

As for the APR K04 chip, I am pretty sure that is only for the VW 1.8 not the A4.

Default The Sk04 is where some shop takes a K04 housing

machines it out to fit a larger K04 wheel inside. Bad thing is that they will never get it to balance correctly. This is one of the reasons they tend to start eating up the wheel after the bearings wear down and it gets shaft play.

why would you think that they couldn't balance it?

Default How many hybrid K04's have you seen that lasted?

Also the fact that most of the K04's have different shaft sizes so they need to have the center drilled out for the correct size and that cant always be done correctly every time. If it is not exact then the wheel will never be fully balanced.

Default i've seen plenty that have lasted...i've had hybrids on my car for over 35K miles

and right now have K03/16's which isn't exactly a mild hybrid. There are ways to ensure precision in wheels/shafts and balancing. Precision machining will net you a precision wheel This allows you to balance the assemblies beyond factory specs.

Default Your lucky, wasn't there a S4 here that had K04/16's that lasted about 150 miles?

The thing with hybrids is that it can be a hit or miss and if it does not work out you have to waste more time and money to fix it.
