Block 138 -- Engine Status @ Misfire
I've got a 97 Audi A4 1.8T (non-dbw) and have been looking at random blocks lately to diagnose my problem of being down on power. My coolant and oil temps have been low, so I replaced the thermostat yesterday and that solved the problem. However, I still feel as though the car isn't putting out what it should be. AFAIK, coolant temp sensor is fine. I've looked at block 138 and it records various data that is going on when a misfire occurs. I've noticed that in the "engine status" part, mine has always been described as "cold."
Does anyone know more about this particular block? What other options are there? Cold...warm...hot? What does this block feed off of to determine its status? Is there another group I should be looking at?
I think that if I can get the ECU to realize that the motor is in fact at operating temp, life will be much better.
Any clues?
Thanks a bunch,
S.
