Default Boost Pressure going into the crankcase & making a bubbling sound?

so i made one of URS4's boost leak tester caps & hooked it up in place of the MAF...

all the air sounds like its going into the crankcase, all i hear is a bubbling sound coming from the oil pan area...

any ideas?<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1365528.phtml">X-post</a></li></ul>

Default Sounds like your compression rings are going out.

I had the same problem with oil coming out the filter part of my catch can, but yet I was not burning any oil.

Default Like I said before

it's because you have oil in the pan. ;-)
Probably using the turbos oil line as a pathway, and you are getting the bubbling sound.

Default but you thought it was leaking past the valve guides & rings......

;p

but really......

shouldn't the seal be able to hold that much pressure?

Default Could be the air is leaking past the turbo seals, and going down through the turbo oil return....

the turbo oil return goes into the oil pan below the oil level, so it could be bubbling up through that.

If that's the case, I wouldn't be too worried about it, because I think when oil flows through the turbo (when the engine is running) it helps seal it up preventing air coming through.

Default It could be that as well.It could be combination of things.

No way for me to know but if you get a lot of air rushing into the crankcase you may hear some bubbling noises. It will take the path of least resistance and once you blocked up the TB the only thing I can think of would be the return.

Default For wasting my time and money (one month and $100)

I thought they would be able to provide a decent chip for my setup.

They couldn't. 3 out of the 4 chips wouldn't even run, and the 4th put the car in limp mode with a memory error.

I lost a month of my time, and almost $100 with all the shipping fees incurred, plus a lot of aggrevation.
