Default Bosch platinum spark plugs

I've got a 2002 3.0Q A4. Wondering if the Paltinum +4 are safe to use and worth it? The dealer says not to do it, is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks...

Safe? Sure, don't see why not, a few Audi engines came with platinum plugs from the factory (just not +4's).

Worth it? Not likely.

Your car uses an NGK PFR6U-11G, which appears to already be a platinum core plug (pic is of the PRF6Q, but yours should be similar).

If anything, I'd go to a Bosch Super or NGK that uses a triple (copper) electrode setup.

My non-turbo engine spat +4's out in ~5k miles...That plat. electrode is pretty well hidden.

OEM 2.7T plugs are NGK platinums and many people are using Bosch F5DP0R (platinum) plugs as well.

F5DP0R's are factory for the "real" 20vt's, going back over a decade ;-)

Default Right, and they are platinum. So contrary to what some say, turbos w/platinum plugs aren't ...

necessarily a problem.

Correct, just depends on which plat. plug it is...I would not use any +4's however.

Default F5DOR are platinium and really good plugs. The F2CS are even better though, but I am running NKG

NKG PFR7B right now.
They work great....
