brake upgrade on a 99 a4 fwd 1.8t
Ive had a set of 944 turbo brake calipers sitting around for my porsche 911 project car, but seeing as how that project wont be done for a long while, I was wondering how much better these calipers would perform over the stock ones. I know more clamping force isnt needed with the stock brakes, so I was also wondering what rotor would work well with this caliper. the wheels being used would be 17"/8" tsw eurace. the brackets to hold the calipers can easily be fabricated, so thats not main main worry. Im mostly focused on low cost and better braking. hopefuly, all ill need to buy is brake fluid rotors and the parts for the brackets, maybe new lines? All your input is appreciated.
thank you

installing boxster/986 brakes on A8/A4 312mmx25mm rotors is
a common upgrade. Not certain what rotor thickness the 944T calipers are designed for. You could also just do the TT calipers w/312 rotors for less hassle and $s. Check out bira.org for some carrier options.
