Default Calling all CVT or general Audi Gurus...click if you know your stuff.

Copied and pasted from audizine.com because all ibe recieved is the sound of crickets lol

Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for the potential help on this. Im new to audi but I've been in the auto world for the better part of 18yrs. These type of forums are gold.

I currently own a 2006 B7 2.0T automatic cvt with 116k that's has had intermittent issues shifting into neutral while driving. The Audi dealership recommended I have the TCM replaced with a cost of $3,200. I think I'll pass on that no lube rape job. I've found a 2005 B7 2.0T automatic cvt that has damage in the front end for $700.00. My questions are,

1. Is replacement of the TCM with the use of this link my best option as far as labor and financial burden?
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...CM-replacement

OR

1. Are the transmissions from my 06 and the donor 05 interchangeable?

2. Are the transmissions a sealed unit

* if not, is the fill procedure the same as explained in this http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...CM-replacement

sorry if I've missed any information.
