In addition:
1--prior to removal, try & clean around the injectors as best as possible. You don't need anything falling in, or getting wedged between the seal & it's seat.
2-- you'll need to make sure all of the old injector seals are out. Missing one can cause all sorts of running problems.
3--To ease the install & reduce the chance of tearing a new seal, spray some silicone on them before you put them in place.
4--Once you're done, run the engine(may take a minute to start), and check closely for leaks!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/47955.phtml">simple definition</a></li></ul>

Default Not sure about 1.8t, but on 2.8, I add the following advice . . .

1. Before taking the fuel system apart, make sure the gas tank is low on fuel rather than full; this will decrease the residual fuel pressure.

2. Never work on fuel system if engine remains even the slightest bit hot.

3. Have a lot of towels handy and covering most of the engine areas where you are working, as residual fuel pressure will cause fuel to leak out no matter what you do.

4. When removing the fuel rail, loosen the bolts that hold the fuel rail down only part way at first, then pry the old injector from the bottom o-ring rather than the top o-ring. When it pops off from the substantial force you will need to apply, you still have the bolt holding the fuel rail down and it only moves a few millimeters rather than flying off.

5. Before removing the fuel rail, use a light penetrating oil, like WD-40 on all the o-rings to loosen them up before you attempt to remove them.

6. When installing new injectors, lightly coat the o-rings with motor oil (I would never use silicone-based lubricants due to the adverse effect it may have on the plugs and catalytic converters).

7. During re-installation, do not press the injectors in fully, just lay them over the manifold holes and the in the fuel rail holes. Use the gentle force applied by screwing down the fuel rail to press the injectors into the fuel rail and manifold. On the 2.8's, there exists a fuel rail clip to hold and properly align the injector with the fuel rail. Set these first, as they will determine how far down the injector should go into the manifold.

8. Always inspect your fuel injectors closely for leaks after installation and daily for a few days after installation to insure that you did not rip or weaken one of the o-rings during installation, as no one wants fuel spraying over the engine a 4.0 BAR.
