Can apr tune permanently remove cel light/pass emissions?

Can apr tune permanently remove cel light/pass emissions?

2001 TT 225, I have a check engine light for sai pump, Audi dealer said they'd fix it for $1250. Could an apr tune remove the cel permanently?

I tried searching and I've found that apr can remove the code. But can't find if it removes it permanently or just resets it, like disconnecting the battery
