Default Need to recode for 2 v Quattro & and tranny or other differences

At least on my 99 this is true. never worked on one of the DBW cars.

Default When I ordered my ECU from AWE, i was told they were the same (more)

They told me the ECU was coded differently for manual vs. Tip but it was the same for FWD vs Quattro.

This was confirmed by Garrett himself. I spoke to him minutes before swapping my ECU to confim I had the right one.

This is for a 99.5 ECU. I don't know if the new DBW are the same.

Default HELP!!!

I have a 2000 A4 1.8T FWD MANUAL

My ECU part # is 4B0 906 018 P, the P BOX

However, according to:

https://www.audiworld.com/forum/m/a4/msgs/338182.phtml

A P box is for a Quattro with Manual.....

What??? why do I have a quattro chip in my FWD car?????

OverPSI, any comments or help appreciated. Thanks.

Default I don't know for sure

but P box was used for 99 NON-DBW cars so your 2000 (which is DBW) won't work as I understand.

Quattro vs FWD on pre-DBW is just a vagcom coding step change. I've done it a couple times now.

But for DriveByWire cars, I don't know...

Default Your box works with both A4 Q and FWD...

The BH and BG are for Passat, which has ASR. Swapping between these boxes will cause problems.

Technically, you should get your P ECU recoded with a VAG tool. Recode feature: 07201 for Quattro, 07001 for FWD.

However, if you don't, there will not be any real issues. The coding seems to have a minute affect on traction control (via ABS).
