Can the 1.8T handle these plugs? Or will it run into EMI and RFI interference troubles?

Default The whole system is sensitive to EMI according to audi...

Radios are just sensitive EM receivers, if you get enough interference the ecu can also have sporadic errors. This is why audi advises to use care when installing transmitters (re. manual).

All aftermarket ecus that I have seen describe the requirement to use resistor plugs and wires to avoid interference.
