Default Can oxygenated "winter" gas cause pinging?...

I have had my Autothority Stage 2 upgrade for about 2 months now and overall have been very pleased. Just lately though, I've noticed some pinging under full throttle. Can the gas be the culprit or it it something else more serious? Should I take the car back to Autothority? Right now I use Amoco 93 octane gas. Would switching to Sunoco 94 octane offer any benefits? Recently, my mpg has also gone down by a couple of miles.(And NO, I'm not constantly flooring it.) I've also noticed the infamous "coke bottle" sound which is strange because the Stage 2 kit comes with an upgraded BPV. Usually I hear this sound under half throttle. I'm starting to get a little worried. Any ideas? Any solutions? TIA for your replies.

Default I found that in Colorado, winterized fuel was less ping-inducing...

I didn't notice any pinging with a previously owned Garrett chip til the spring when the fuel went back to normal. I have an Autothority chip that is detuned for the low octatne gas here in Colorado they could probably detune yours a bit to alleviate the pinging. Give them a call or stop by.

By the way, what is Stage 2 upgrade? Exhaust and chip?

Thanks,

Default I didn't notice any trouble in my TTQ last winter with my stock or Garrett chip . . .

But I always had trouble with my Nissan truck during the winter with the ****ty gas.

"Winterized fuel" less pinging? Maybe the colder weather instead

Default Rob is right, ping knock fun

The ping is dependant on local fuel mixing, the seasonal fuel stock, and the local temps. Summer pings are obvious due to the windows being open, hard to hear otherwise.
