Can silicone Heater hose be used as a fuel line ?

given the correct diameter ?

WYSIWYG 06-30-2003 02:57 PM

no. silicon hoses from bakerprecision.com are too soft and kinda fragile too

Pizzicato 06-30-2003 03:21 PM

This would be a NON-Audi application

I wanted to replace some hoses on my spitfire,Would gasoline eat through the silicone?,there's no fuel injection here, just a weber carb

CharlieGSanD 06-30-2003 03:59 PM

yup, it's a no-no

cool car though!

they make special tubing for fuel applications...

in fact, silicone tubing isn't recommended for oil either, the oil can destroy it.

Nice car...

My dad had a '74 Spitfire. Unfortunately, he sold it 1 year before I was able to drive. =(
