car alarms vs wildlife
OK, not strictly performance, but interesting to me nonetheless.
You probably have a neighbor like mine: ratty car, with an aftermarket alarm that has the sensitivity **** CRANKED all the way up to "protect" his car. It has a choice of 6 tones, and since 99% of the owners of this alarm don't know/don't care that you can cut some leads inside to "choose" which tone you want, it cycles thru each of the 6.
Well, of course the damn thing goes off a couple times a day and by now noone cares about it, in fact we WANT it to get stolen so it will shut up. Its the "little car that cries thief"
Well, I am out on the stoop this morning tying my shoes and listening to the birdies. It takes me a second, but then I catch a pattern from the bird:
cheep! cheep! cheep! Caw! Caw! Caw! squueeeeeeeAAAK! squueeeeeeeAAAK! yip! yip! yip! seee-awww! seee-awww! Cheep! cheep! cheep!....
The damn mocking bird was imitating laughing boy's car alarm.
That was too funny, and I was rolling around the porch laughing my *** off. I wish I had a tape recorder handy. It was a hoot.
Anyway, if you nhave an alarm in your car, please for the love of god, and the sanity of our wildlife, please do not crank up the sensitivity ****, you aren't doing anyone any favors.
Thanks for letting me waste your bandwidth.
