Default Check out the beast Matrix Engineering will be running in the 1.8t challenge...

Looks like we may have a new fastest audi through the 1/4 mile for a little while. TWO external wastegates?!?! Anyone else think thats an overkill?

http://matrixengineering.cc/challenge/

Default Edit... Looks like the 1.8t challenge is falling apart...

Apparently they aren't even going to have a road course section anymore and Matrix will be pulling out of the event. It should be interesting to see how this whole thing turns out.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=929709

It didn't look anything like a "high speed" road course on thier web site.

Default They used dual wastegates because the did not use a collector on the manifold.

so instead of putting a pipe between all 4 runners they just used 1 wastegate on each pair of runners.

BTW their turbo is pretty much installed the same way mine is.

Default Well since it has no dash there is no way it is street legal.

You might also notice that they have moved the driver, pedals and shifter back further.

Default Does not look like they will be running a maf or filter on that turbo

so it might have been hard to make it street legal.

But as their long post says on Vortex, it will be used to run at alot of the west coast road course events.
