Default Chip question. If using 91 oct fuel retards the stock ECU timing to protect the motor,

then how is it safe to install a chip that advanced the timing for better performance?

Default the chip increase boost and some timing

timing is a function of many things (octane, intake air temperature, etc) but mainly if you are able and willing to put 93 oct in the car, then a chip allows you to take advantage of that.

The major benefit of a chip is that it will request more boost, and may request a leaner air/fuel ratio thus providing more power.
