Default chipped loss of power?

After putting a chip into an A4 1.8T Q, is it possible to lose some of the intial power that the chip has added after a period of time?

If this is true, wouldn't it also mean that a stock ecu would lose power over time?

so if we re-plug in our ECU's we would re-gain some loss power???

Default Maybe the cold weather affect?

What year A4 and what chip?

I noticed and others have commented that Audi dials back boostin colder weather so the overall output of the motor is about the same. For example, if you boost the same amt in colder weather, you would make more power since the air is denser, but the ecu dials back boost so your perf is consistent between hot and cold weather.

In my car, I noticed that ~60 degrees fahrenheit was kind of the turning point. Car seemed faster above 60, which was counterintuitive since I expected more power when it's cooler.

Some chips ignore the cold weather affect, for example, APR had a cold weather program that kept boost consistent in cold weather (meaning more power). I asked about this awhile back, and got conflicting answers regarding other chips (GIAC in particular). I "think" the latest GIAC does not dial back boost in cold weather.

Anyway, it could also be that you need to do the throttle adaption thingy again. Did you follow that procedure when installing the chip? Maybe you need to clear DTCs?

Thoughts?
