Cone intake kit at high elevation (final review)...
Ok...after having the LLTek intake on my car with both TAP Stage 2 and GIAC chips, I'm convinced that it doesn't work well at higher elevations (I'm in Denver, CO). I drove up to the mtns one time (11,000+ ft) and it was worse than a stock airbox and no chip. It feels like boost isn't as strong and isn't sustained as long with the cone setup (sorry, I don't have a boost gauge). Obviously there must be some performance gains since others have posted as such, but it must be at lower elevations; that's the only reason I can think of. Has anyone else up in the high country (5,000+ ft) tried one yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I have the MC intake - great performance at 10,000+ ft...
And have been extremely happy with the performance. I'm in Utah at 4,500 feet and have run my car up above 10,000 ft wtih no adverse performance.
I wonder if your chip isn't reacting well to the elevation change? I don't see how a cone filter would affect high altitude performance at all. Try swapping your chip.

Thanks. I've run it with 2 different chips...
Maybe it's the LLTek in that sucks (pun intended). I think I'll stick with the stock box. Or, maybe I need a K-04... 8^)
