Default Custom Garrett Software - Part Two - The Dyno Results

Today I managed to get back to A.V.O (Advanced Vehicle Operations) to Dyno my car with the new Custom Garrett GIAC Chip for my car.

You can read Part 1 of this story: "Initial impressions" at this link.
https://forums.audiworld.com/oz/msgs/2253.phtml

This was the opportunity to actually confirm what my Butt dyno was telling me - that my car was much stronger with greater pulling power than before.

Here are the results both with the original Giac 1.1 off the shelf chip and the new Custom Garrett GIAC chip optimised for my car. The original is red and the new chip is blue. Sorry one of the graphs is Black and white - I had to get them to fax it to me as I left it behind! Doh!

As before this Dyno run was conducted with BP 98 Ron fuel - no additives or octane boosters of any kind were used and all graphs are raw data - straight from the DTS dyno.

As you can see the results speak for themselves:
The new chip yielded a gain of +3 KW at the wheels and a BIG gain in torque from 698 Newton Metres to 734.3! Remember this is at the wheels, which means the gains at the flywheel were even larger. Also remember that it is necessary to divide the torque by the gear ratio.

The LAMBDA is also interesting showing a big improvement with a almost perfect Air Fuel curve.

Once again I would like to express my sincere thanks to both Lucas and Garrett for organising the new custom chip.

Part three of this series - the "Quarter Mile Strip" will be coming soon.

https://forums.audiworld.com/oz/msgs/2253.phtml</a

Josh, it's good to see an improvement in the lambda readings. It would have been good to see something closer to 0.85 but 0.8 is nothing to be upset with. I noticed the peak boost was up from 17.4psi to 17.7psi. I was worried that the increase in torque was due to a large boost increase but I can now see that there have been other tweaks to fuel and timing. Unfortunately the poor little K03 is still limiting your peak power but you already know that. Interesting to see the boost map is the same after 5000rpm, where the K03 starts to make more heat than power if you push it too hard.
