anyone have any experience/knowledge of chips to derestrict the 155 speed limiter

in particular for an S5 (I guess similar to S4)

I'm not looking to boost performance, just to remove the top speed

I should say I'm based in the UK

Flash your ecu. Not sure about vendors that support the S5, but most ecu flash programs remove the governor.

when they connect their 'diagnostics computer'. If you ask very nicely and they are feeling co-operative

and I also see MTM offer a chip for the purpose - I'm told if you flash the ECU it is often reverted back to normal automatically when the car is serviced

its not the most important thing in the world, but on trips to europe, particulalry germany, it would be occasionally useful

asked a while ago for my cousin's car but no dealer was willing to do it.
